BIG NEWS! Emily Dawn Photo has been FULL-TIME for 5 years now!
I remember when I first made that leap, dropping out of college and moving to a new state (in the middle of Covid) with NO back up plan. And I mean no backup plan. I didn’t even have a place to live for my first 2 weeks in Utah. Maybe I was delusional, or maybe I just knew it my gut that this was what I was supposed to do and that everything would work out.
Here we are 5 years, one divorce and rebrand later and I wish I could go back and tell myself that yes, everything worked out even better than you dreamed.
I remember looking at all the photographers who had been full time for 3 year, 5 years, 10 years and thinking, “One day that will be me too.” It felt so far away. But the time really does go by so fast. And every year has been better than the last.
The decision to go full-time in my photography business opened so many doors for me. I’ve since traveled the world, connected with Mother Nature, and made so many amazing friends (vendors, fellow photographers, and couples). It’s crazy to think how none of this would have happened if I had settled down in Idaho and gotten an office job like I’d originally planned to do.
Now I’m living my dream, creating art, and sharing people’s happiest moments with them. Life is so good and I can’t wait to see what other adventures are ahead.
